Dear friends,
As you might know, SPREAD INDIA, a non profit tax-exempt organization is working on a lot of charity activities to eradicate illiteracy among underprivileged children in rural areas.
SPREAD INDIA's vision is to move the needle on literacy rates by enabling education in rural areas. We all know the importance of education in our lives without which we couldn't have dreamt of breaking the poverty cycle, let alone venturing into new lands thousands of miles away. The time has come to reflect upon our past and take some quick actions to support our rural brethren.
As Vivekananda bluntly put it "So long as the millions live in hunger and ignorance I hold every man a `traitor' who, having been educated at their expense, pays not the least heed to them". Let's not be those people.
Spread India might have approached you in the past for fundraiser and monetary donations. This time it is embarking on a novel idea to collect used books, cloths and toys for our rural siblings who are less fortunate and dropping out of school for lack of them. We are looking for used text books, leisure reading books, dictionaries, encyclopedias, old laptops, toys(non-battery operated), cloths etc for from kindergarten to 10 th grade students.
