I am a 7th grade student at Green Hills school in Ann Arbor, MI. I came to know about Spread India thru the Diwali fundraiser in 2007.
Since then I have become more familiar with the opportunity to help kids in India. With the help of my teacher Gail Wilkoff,
I convinced the school to allow us to host a fundraiser for Spread India. We had Indian Food, Jewelery, Indian Dresses and
Henna to market to those attending and struck a deal with all of those that supplied the items to contribute to Spread India at cost.
The school was gracious to pay for the food. We also showed the video about Spread India projects to the attendees.
There was a lot of positive response from those attending acknowledging the worthy cause including from the Principal of the school.
We had a great turnout and collected over $800. I want to thank Spread India founder Sridhar Patel for encouraging me all through and
attending the event in person. I hope to continue this success by encouraging other kids to plan such events in schools everywhere.
